Develop a deeper understanding of and connection to First Nation culture while you enjoy the drumming, the dancing and the food at a Pow Wow.

Anemkii Wajiw (Mount McKay) has been a meeting place and the site of traditional First Nation ceremonies for thousands of years and the redeveloped Pow Wow grounds are home to numerous celebrations each year.

Visit the Fort William First Nation website to see when the next celebration is. Two Pow Wows are held each year, one on the weekend around July 1, and the second in the Fall.

Pow Wows are traditional First Nation celebrations, not tourist attractions, but they are open to the public and everyone is invited to attend; be respectful of the etiquette and traditions.

The City of Thunder Bay was built on the traditional lands of Fort William First Nation signatory to the Robinson Superior Treaty of 1850.
