 Ally Drombolis Ally works on a diverse portfolio of projects that support tourism growth and generate meaningful economic impact in our community. As the Tourism Development Officer, she partners with sport organizations to build capacity and attract sport events to Thunder Bay. She also supports the local— and delicious—culinary industry, while contributing to the development of tourism initiatives and long-term strategies. Known for her collaborative approach, Ally enjoys building strong partnerships and working alongside community groups to foster relationships and create lasting impact. Outside the office, Ally is a self-described movie enthusiast and serves on the Board of Directors for the North of Superior Film Association. She also loves to travel, attend concerts, and explore Thunder Bay’s vibrant restaurant scene. |

 Karen Martin Karen leads paid and sponsored marketing for Tourism Thunder Bay, supporting long-term strategies and day-to-day initiatives that contribute to the growth of the city’s visitor economy. Working closely with staff, local partners, and regional organizations, she helps promote Thunder Bay, supports tourism product development and events, and contributes to programs that showcase the community’s strengths. Her work focuses on positioning Thunder Bay as a compelling destination while ensuring marketing efforts are strategic, effective, and impactful. Karen is passionate about discovering new restaurants and trying a variety of cuisines, celebrating the city’s rich culinary culture. She’s always “up for lunch” — and will happily turn any meal into a mini culinary adventure. |

Digital & Travel Media Officer |
 Erin Simmons Erin manages the department’s digital and travel media portfolios, creating engaging content and maintaining platforms that showcase the city to visitors and industry partners. From developing online editorial, photo and video content to coordinating travel media familiarization (FAM) tours and attending industry events, she helps Thunder Bay shine across digital platforms and marketing channels. When asked what she loves about Thunder Bay, Erin points to its strong connection to the outdoors, relaxing atmosphere, along with the city’s vibrant events and attractions. Outside the office, she is a proud mom to a creative 11-year-old daughter. Together, her family enjoys exploring Thunder Bay’s events and attractions and spending time outdoors camping, fishing, and adventuring in the region. |

 Kirsten manages the Tourism Development Fund, overseeing the funding program and the Tourism Investment Committee’s evaluation of projects. With a background in business development, she brings expertise in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, program management and as a born-and-raised Thunder Bay local, Kirsten is committed to creating opportunities that develop tourism in Thunder Bay.

Connie Cowling Connie manages daily operations at the Terry Fox Information Centre year-round and the Pagoda in summer, guiding staff to create memorable visitor experiences. From sharing insider tips and maps to managing schedules and inventory, She helps guests make the most of their time—whether it’s five hours or five days. She loves seeing visitors return, excited to share how a quick city tour, a local purchase, or a hidden gem she suggested made their trip extra special. Helping people connect with the city and leave with lasting memories is what makes my role so rewarding. I love my city because you can be swimming, hiking or boating within twenty minutes of your front door and I can’t stop bragging about our food scene to everyone I see. |
