Persians

It is not uncommon to see dozens of Persians being brought on a departing airplane as precious cargo. There are many local bakeries that make their version of the Persian (locals will argue over which is the best - we advise trying them all) but the original is found at The Persian Man Bake Shop.

Finnish Pancakes

A true taste of Thunder Bay’s Finnish roots, Hoito pancakes are beloved for their thin, delicate texture, golden edges, and comforting, made-from-scratch flavour. This iconic local favourite has been enjoyed for generations and remains a must-try for visitors and residents alike. You can get authentic Hoito pancakes at the Hoito Restaurant location inside Goods & Co. What began as a passion project for a couple of local entrepreneurs has in a few short years become an amazing success story. Heartbeat Hot Sauce is locally made with locally grown peppers (courtesy of DeBruin's Greenhouses) and has found its way onto store shelves across North America, to the mailboxes of thousands of hot sauce fans around the world and to the plates of dozens of celebrities on the wildly popular YouTube series Hot Ones, appearing on 3 seasons of the show.
