Thunder Bay is home to a number of local sports teams. Summer or winter there is always a home team to cheer for.

 Baseball

The Thunder Bay Border Cats play at Port Arthur Stadium. The 2005 and 2008 Northwoods League champs are ready to win it all again. Buy tickets online.

 Hockey

Home of Matt Murray, the Staal brothers, Carter Hutton, the Pyatt's and dozens more professional players, Thunder Bay knows hockey.

 Lakehead Thunderwolves

The Lakehead Thunderwolves are the Lakehead University men's hockey team. Boasting the highest attendance of all teams in its league, the whole city cheers for the 'wolves. The Thunderwolves play their home games at the Fort William Gardens. Tickets are available at the box office.

 Thunder Bay North Stars

The Thunder Bay North Stars are the local Junior A team. Consistently competitive, the North Stars have won the league championship a number of times. Home games are played at the Fort William Gardens and tickets are available at the box office.

Kam River Fighting Walleye

The Kam River Fighting Walleye are the newest team in the city; playing the same league as the North Stars, the Walleye play out of their home rink at NorWest Arena (home of the Staal Brothers). Games are broadcast online.

 Roller Derby

The Babes of Thunder are a Division C team in the Women's Flat Track Roller Derby Association and they travel to matches around the world. Comprised of all-stars from the local home teams, Thunder Bay Roller Derby League matches are held at venues around the city.

 Soccer

Soccer fans will delight in the fast-paced action of the Thunder Bay Chill. One of the top teams in the Premier Development League, Chill games are played at Tbaytel Field at Fort William Stadium. Single game tickets are available at the gate before the game.
