There is great fishing for trout, walleye, salmon, perch and pike just minutes from the Thunder Bay downtown core. Most of the fishing is accessible from shore, but anglers with cars and canoes can find even more opportunities in the city.

 

 Kaministiquia River
 Anglers find walleye, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, northern pike and carp.

Public Boat Access at Mission Island and Mountdale Ave. The Mountdale launch features a wheelchair accessible fishing platform.

 Fisherman's Park/Current River/Boulevard Lake
 In the Current River stretching from the Cascades Conservation Area through Boulevard Lake to Fisherman's Park, anglers can find walleye, pike, perch, rainbow trout, smallmouth bass, pink salmon and more.
 Prince Arthur's Landing/Marina Park
 Right in the downtown core, anglers will most often catch pike and perch, but medium-sized Walleye are not uncommon.
 Neebing River
 Anglers will most often find Rainbow Trout with the odd Walleye or Pike.
 McIntyre River
 A very popular urban fishing spot, anglers will easily find Rainbow Trout.
