Environment North invites you to reconnect with the land, the waters, and each other. Join us for Nature Connections, a five-part fall workshop series held on Saturdays, offering different pathways into environmental awareness, hands-on learning, and a deeper sense of belonging in the natural world.
All workshops are free, family-friendly, and open to all ages! Youth are warmly welcome when accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- September 19 – Water Ceremony with Cindy Crowe – Gather on the shore of Gichigami to honour the water that sustains all life – Niibing Tribal Tours and Little Trout Bay Conservation Area,11 am to 2 pm
- September 26 – Explore the Mushroom Forest with Taina Chahal – Enter into the woods to tune into your senses, look for mushrooms, sketch, and write – Tapiola Outdoor Education Centre, 1 to 4:30 pm
- October 3 – All about Birds with Madison Dyck – Learn about fall migration, which birds stay for winter, and how they get ready for the cold – Trowbridge Falls Park, 1 to 4 pm
- October 10 – Medicine Walk– Explore tree identification and traditional plant medicines in this guided walk – Trowbridge Falls Park, 1 to 4 pm
- October 17 – Think Like a Mountain with Georgia Wilkins – Connect in meditation and discussions on resiliency, climate grief, hope, and action – The Outpost, Lakehead University, 10:45 to 11:15 am
