Accreditations & Memberships

Rainbow Registered is a national accreditation for 2SLGBTQI+ friendly businesses and organizations. When you see a Rainbow Registered symbol, you know the business or organization meets a stringent set of standards to ensure 2SLGBTQI+ customers feel safe, welcomed, and accepted.

The accreditation program grants a time-limited recognition to businesses and organizations for demonstrating compliance with the quality standard. Accredited businesses are deemed market-ready for the 2SLGBTQI+ customer and given the right to be associated with the program’s prestigious Rainbow Registered designation mark.

#SafeTravels

Tourism Thunder Bay has been awarded a #SafeTravels Stamp by the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) for adopting health and hygiene global standardized protocols.

The specially designed stamp will allow travellers to recognise governments and companies around the world which have adopted health and hygiene global standardised protocols – so consumers can experience ‘Safe Travels’.

Eligible companies such as hotels, restaurants, airlines, cruise lines, tour operators, attractions, short term rentals, car rentals, outdoor shopping, transportation and airports, will be able to use the stamp once the health and hygiene protocols, outlined by WTTC, have been implemented. 

TIAO asks that destinations that would like to apply for the Safe Travels Stamp to please use the POST Promise. TIAO would appreciate your commitment to encourage businesses  within their destination to also apply for the stamp as well.

Please note, in order to apply for the Safe Travels Stamp, your business must currently be open and operating.

Culinary Tourism Alliance

Established in 2006, the Culinary Tourism Alliance is a national, membership-based not-for-profit organization. We work with our member communities to grow food tourism in their destinations through our destination development services, consumer marketing channels, and our various programs and events.

Cultural Industries Ontario North (CION)

The mandate of Cultural Industries Ontario North (CION) is to stimulate and promote Northern Ontario’s film, television and music industries, as well as provide educational programs to foster the advancement of our region’s emerging talent.
