Tourism Investment Committee
The Tourism Investment Committee (TIC) will provide transparent, evidence-based, strategic direction to Tourism Thunder Bay in the delivery of programs funded through the Municipal Accommodation Tax (MAT).
Strategic direction and investments will grow the tourism economy of the community by supporting initiatives that align with one or more of Tourism Thunder Bay’s strategic objectives which include but are not limited to:
- Develop, improve and expand visitor experiences
- Increase number of new visitors to city and region
- Increase return visitation
- Increase length of stay
- Increase economic yield per visitor
- Foster a culture of service excellence
- Support an exceptional tourism workforce
- Develop a community pride of place
In June 2018, Thunder Bay CEDC, Tourism Thunder Bay, City of Thunder Bay Corporate Strategic Services, the Thunder Bay Hotel Association, and Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce, as members of the MAT partnership, proposed a 10 member (8 voting members + 2 Ex-Officio) committee.
